María Sánchez-Ramos is a junior lecturer and pre-doctoral researcher at the Department of Journalism I at the University of Seville, Spain. PhD student on the Inter-University Doctoral Programme in Communication. She is member of the IAMCR- International Association for Media and Communication Research and is also part of the Communication Theory and Technology Research Group -GITTCUS (HUM384). Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the US. MA in Institutional and Political Communication, University of Seville. Her line of research deals with violence against women, communication and feminism.
In 2020 she was awarded the Youth Prize of Scientific Culture by the City Council of Seville and the 6th Rosario Valpuesta Research Prize for her research ‘The Andalusian press coverage of ‘The Wolf Pack’ Case. Sexual violence and journalistic ethics: approaches from the critical feminist perspective’ (Tirant lo Blanch, 2021). In 2021 she received a Fulbright Predoctoral Research Grant for a six-month stay at the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, USA).
