La&nbsp;<strong>TMS<\/strong> (The Minerals, Metals, and Materials Society) es una sociedad internacional con sede en Estados Unidos, que cuenta con unos 12.000 socios distribuidos entre los cinco continentes, entre los que destacan miembros de la industria, centros p\u00fablicos de investigaci\u00f3n y organismos gubernamentales. El profesor Victorino Franco ser\u00e1 el primer investigador espa\u00f1ol en recibir este homenaje.
