Grupo de Investigación en Comunicación y Cultura – Research Group on Communication and Culture
Thought as an academic exchange network, the Research Group on Communication and Culture is constituted by a multidisciplinary team of researchers focused on the analysis and study of the main changes and structures operating in the field of information and public communication. It favours an open and integrating approach linking theory and practice, reflection and cultural dynamics. The group also aims to combine a critical academic vision and culture of productive research in order to define problems and analytical proposals around the objects and logics crossing communication processes today.

Historia del Periodismo y las Lecturas Populares en Andalucía – History of Journalism and Popular Reading in Andalusia
The Research group “History of Journalism and Popular Reading in Andalusia” was founded on 2012 with the aim of promoting research in the history of Andalusian journalism, especially in the less studied periods before contemporary history (Golden Century, Enlightment, XIX century…). Another of the main lines of study refers to the analysis and vindication of the popular press (events listings, romances, satirical and worker’s press..), as well as readings of different press models through the lens of popular culture.
