modulan la excitabilidad neuronal y la plasticidad sin\u00e1ptica, e identificar las alteraciones de estos procesos que causan enfermedades neurol\u00f3gicas como el s\u00edndrome del X fr\u00e1gil o el autismo.<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW90743422 BCX0\"> El s\u00edndrome X fr\u00e1gil (SXF) es una alteraci\u00f3n del desarrollo neurol\u00f3gico y la causa m\u00e1s com\u00fan de discapacidad intelectual y autismo de car\u00e1cter hereditario. Los pacientes con SXF muestran tambi\u00e9n dificultad de aprendizaje, hiperactividad, hipersensibilidad a est\u00edmulos, convulsiones, y\/o ansiedad. Este s\u00edndrome se origina por el silenciamiento de la transcripci\u00f3n del gen FMR1, situado en el cromosoma X, que codifica la <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW90743422 BCX0\">prote\u00edna<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW90743422 BCX0\"> FMRP (<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW90743422 BCX0\">fragile<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW90743422 BCX0\"> mental <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW90743422 BCX0\">retardation<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW90743422 BCX0\">protein<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW90743422 BCX0\">). Nuestro<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"TextRun SCXW90743422 BCX0\" lang=\"ES-ES\" xml:lang=\"ES-ES\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW90743422 BCX0\">proyecto actual de investigaci\u00f3n est\u00e1 dirigido a determinar las bases fisiol\u00f3gicas de la <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW90743422 BCX0\">hiperexcitabilidad<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW90743422 BCX0\"> celular y de las alteraciones en la plasticidad sin\u00e1ptica en las neuronas del hipocampo, una regi\u00f3n crucial en los procesos cognitivos de aprendizaje y memoria, en el rat\u00f3n modelo de s\u00edndrome X fr\u00e1gil<\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW90743422 BCX0\" lang=\"ES-ES\" xml:lang=\"ES-ES\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW90743422 BCX0\">.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW90743422 BCX0\" lang=\"ES-ES\" xml:lang=\"ES-ES\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW90743422 BCX0\"> Estos estudios pretenden tambi\u00e9n buscar tratamientos farmacol\u00f3gicos que normalicen las alteraciones fisiol\u00f3gicas y conductuales asociadas al s\u00edndrome. Para alcanzar estos objetivos, estudiamos la fisiolog\u00eda neuronal en preparaciones <\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW90743422 BCX0\" lang=\"ES-ES\" xml:lang=\"ES-ES\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW90743422 BCX0\">in vitro <\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW90743422 BCX0\" lang=\"ES-ES\" xml:lang=\"ES-ES\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW90743422 BCX0\">con la t\u00e9cnica de <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW90743422 BCX0\">patch<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW90743422 BCX0\">clamp<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW90743422 BCX0\">.
