The course was oriented for PhD students and young researchers with a background in Process Engineering and interested in recent advances for thermochemical conversion of biomass and residues. The course will cover the following topics:

  • Experimental tests (measurements and protocols)
  • Conceptual design of thermochemical biorefineries (modeling and techno-economic assessment)
  • Technical development in syngas cleaning
  • Environmental impact of biomass- and waste-to-energy technologies
